His eye on the sparrow

Last summer as I glanced out the window from working at some recipes that I'd been working at for the cookbook of Moms recipes, I noticed a tiny little bird (a sparrow I think) drinking water from the little pools of water left on the railing from the rain. As I watched it went to rest for a little while on the bottom rail of my balcony. Over the last months as I have looked back at this picture I am reminded of how God's eye is on the sparrow, looking after its ever need. Just a few days over three weeks after taking the picture Mom passed away and I am reminded over the days, the weeks and months of how Gods eye is on the sparrow and how much more so is His eye is on us meeting our every need!

A full year has come to a close. Each day a page was written on. Some sad and others joyful. With the old year closing a new year has begun with each day a new page. Clean and fresh waiting to be written on. Leaning and trusting in the Lord for each day.

Fall is in the air. The leaves on the trees and bushes have turned beautiful colors. The air outside this Thanksgiving weekend sunday was freezing. Ones breath hung in the air. With the weather getting cooler as we near the winter months the fireplace in the main picture of this blog looks welcoming. To be able relax by the fire and find a good book to read with a hot cup soup or tea or hot chocolate and get comfortable in a big old easy chair for the evening!

Rainbows

Here it is almost the middle of July already! We have had some warm weather and near the end of some of these days we have had some refreshing rain showers along with the displays of lightening and thunder to follow! Following these little outbursts of showers comes a rainbow along with the sun shining again so brightly. As I sit here this evening looking out my living room window after the rain, it is too late for a rainbow. But I listen to the birds, or maybe it is just one, softly singing their lullibies as the evening draws to a close.

Rainy Days

Sitting near the window watching a gentle shower coming down, washing the leaves of the trees and grass of any dust, making everything so green. Flowers reaching up for a drink. A gentle breeze blowing tree branches lightly. Wishing for a fireplace to warm up to and take a little bit a chill off the room. Getting something hot to drink. A hot apple cyder or hot chocolate maybe!? Lighting a few candles and then with a good book and wishing for that fireplace to taking the chill off the air...sinking into a large easy chair and reading into the evening. Occasionally looking up to watch the rain splash off the outside chair. A tiny bird taking cover in a tree nearby! The stream in the back lane making it's way to the street but not before going through a large puddle! Relaxing.

Sunshine!

At last! Sunshine! Amazing! The snow is melting! Only a few flakes of snow falling late in the afternoon as the sun shone for a little while with a temperature around the freezing point! Could there possibly be a heat wave coming of normal temperatures! Smile! Flowers coming soon from under that blanket of snow with more of the sunshine coming! Whew!

Is it spring yet?

As I sit here looking out onto a winter wonderland.... Oh no, thats right, it is spring! If it wasn't so bright out this late in the evening one could very easily think it was still winter out there with the windchill especially! Is spring really out there somewhere?!!
